Neville N. Osborne
Neville N. Osborne is a distinguished male scholar in the field of ophthalmic neurobiology. He is a biochemical pharmacologist by training and currently serves as a professor of ophthalmic neurobiology at the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology, University of Oxford. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in teaching medical students and has published over 500 papers, with an H-index of 66. Osborne has made significant contributions to the understanding of retinal neurodegeneration and has been recognized with numerous awards for his work. He has also held editorial positions for several academic journals, including being the founding editor-in-chief of Neurochemistry International.

Jason C. Yam
Jason C. Yam is a prominent male ophthalmologist and academic based in Hong Kong. He is currently a Professor and Head of the Undergraduate Division at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He also serves as the Dean of General Education at Chung Chi College, CUHK, and is the Director of the CUHK Jockey Club Myopia Prevention Programme. He has made significant contributions to the field of ophthalmology, particularly in pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, and myopia prevention. He is the principal investigator of several major research grants and studies, including the Low-concentration Atropine for Myopia Progression (LAMP) studies, which have provided critical evidence for the use of low-concentration atropine in controlling myopia. His research has been published in over 170 articles in SCI-indexed journals, and he has received numerous awards for his work, including the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology De Ocampo Lecture Award in 2024 and the Nakajima Award in 2019.

Juan Kong
Brief Biography of Juan Kong, MD, PhD Dr. Juan Kong serves as Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Director of the Department of Clinical Nutrition at Shengjing Hospital, China Medical University. She previously held the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago, USA. Dr. Kong earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in Anesthesiology from China Medical University. Upon returning to China, she established the country’s first interdisciplinary doctoral program in clinical nutrition, integrating clinical medicine, public health and basic medical sciences. She is a Standing Director of the Chinese Nutrition Society and acts as a peer reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She received the Distinguished Contribution Award from the Chinese Nutrition Society. Her research interests include vitamin D signaling, bone metabolism, energy metabolism, hyperhomocysteinemia, hyperuricemia, and mechanisms underlying multi-organ injury protection. She has published 105 peer-reviewed articles, with a cumulative impact factor of 321.353 and more than 2,800 citations. She is also the author of two clinical nutrition monographs. She supervises doctoral, master’s students and postdoctoral researchers, and has organized numerous national and international academic conferences in nutrition.

Xiaoyu Yang
Xiaoyu Yang, Tang Aoqing Distinguished Professor (Tier B) at Jilin University and Executive Director of the Orthopaedic Hospital at Bethune Second Hospital, Jilin University. As Chief Scientist, he has led one National Major Science and Technology Project and seven National Natural Science Foundation projects, and holds three National New Drug Certificates with成果 transferred to listed companies including Jilin Aodong Pharmaceutical. He holds over 10 invention patents, three of which have been commercialized. In the past five years, he has published more than 30 SCI-indexed articles, including 15 in Q1 journals, with work appearing in Materials Today (CAS Q1, IF = 24.2). He leads the international collaborative project "Bladder Neural Prosthesis Development," which has achieved a technological breakthrough in China's industrialization efforts, yielding one engineered prototype. To date, he has supervised 60 graduate students (including 34 doctoral candidates). He serves as Chief Expert of the National Flagship Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Department Construction Project, Standing Committee Member of the Spine and Spinal Cord Group of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, and Standing Committee Member of the Spine and Spinal Cord Society of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. He also directs the Jilin Provincial Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Quality Control Center and serves as Head of the Jilin Provincial Key Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Department. He previously studied and obtained a work permit in spinal surgery at Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge in Sweden, where he trained under internationally renowned Professor Runni, specializing in surgical treatment of spinal deformities.

Jeremy A. Guggenheim
Jeremy A. Guggenheim is a distinguished male professor and researcher in the field of optometry and vision sciences. He was born on January 12, 1967, and is currently a Professor at the School of Optometry & Vision Sciences at Cardiff University in the UK. He received his BSc in Optometry and his PhD from Cardiff University. His research focuses on understanding the genetic and environmental factors contributing to myopia (nearsightedness), and he has led or participated in numerous international collaborative projects, including the Consortium for Refractive Error and Myopia (CREAM) and the UK Biobank Eye and Vision Consortium. He has made significant contributions to the field, with over 195 publications cited by more than 6,870 researchers. He has received prestigious awards such as the ARVO Gold Fellow Award in 2022 and the Biennial Arthur Bennett Prize for Outstanding Research from the College of Optometrists in 2012/2013. He is also actively involved in editorial boards and grant review panels, including serving as an Associate Editor for Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science (IOVS) since 2023.

Sharma T
Dr. Rohit Sharma is an accomplished optometrist based in Atlanta, Georgia. He is of Indian ancestry and was born and raised in Kenya until the age of 12, after which his family immigrated to the United States. Dr. Sharma completed his undergraduate studies in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, and later earned his Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. During his training, he was actively involved with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), participating in volunteer missions to Mexico where he examined and treated thousands of patients. He has worked in various optometric practices and has dedicated time to serving underprivileged communities. Dr. Sharma currently practices at the Eye Center of Atlanta, where he continues to provide comprehensive eye care services.

Rudy M. M. A. Nuijts
Prof. Dr. Rudy M. M. A. Nuijts is a renowned ophthalmologist and academic based in the Netherlands. Born in 1962, he is currently a Professor of Ophthalmology and the Director of the Cornea Clinic and the Center for Refractive Surgery at the University Eye Clinic Maastricht, Maastricht University. He completed his medical degree at the Rijksuniversiteit Limburg in Maastricht in 1986 and underwent his ophthalmology training at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam. He also completed a cornea research fellowship in the United States and a fellowship in corneal surgery at the Rotterdam Eye Hospital. He is an expert in corneal diseases, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery. His research interests include innovations in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery, with a particular focus on femtosecond laser technology and transscleral drug delivery. He has authored over 180 scientific publications and has given more than 500 invited presentations worldwide.

Peter Wiedemann
Peter Wiedemann is a distinguished German ophthalmologist, born on October 23, 1953, in Erlangen, Germany. He is a specialist in medical and surgical retina and served as the head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Leipzig University from 1993 to 2021. Wiedemann completed his medical studies in Bochum, Rennes, Stanford, and Erlangen, and he has made significant contributions to the fields of retinology, pharmacology, and cell and molecular biology. He has held various leadership positions, including Executive Vice President of Leipzig University (2003–2006), President of the German Ophthalmological Society (2009), and member of the International Council of Ophthalmology’s Board. Wiedemann has also been involved in major international roles, such as the Scientific Program Chair for the World Ophthalmology Congress. He is a prolific author with over 400 peer-reviewed publications and has co-authored the 5th edition of the standard reference book Retina.

Joel S. Schuman
Joel S. Schuman, MD, FACS, is a highly esteemed ophthalmologist and researcher based in the United States. He currently holds the Kenneth L. Roper Endowed Chair and serves as Vice Chair for Research Innovation at Wills Eye Hospital, where he is also Co-Director of the Glaucoma Service. Additionally, he is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University. Dr. Schuman has received numerous accolades for his contributions, including the ARVO Translational Research Award (2006), the Carnegie Science Center Award (2012), and the Champalimaud Vision Award (2012). He was elected to the American Ophthalmological Society in 2008 and the American Association of Physicians in 2016. In 2022, he received the USC Keck Roski Eye Institute Laureate Award. His research interests focus on early detection of eye diseases, particularly glaucoma, and the development of novel diagnostic tools. Dr. Schuman's work has significantly advanced the field of ophthalmology and improved the diagnosis and treatment of various eye conditions.

Rajvardhan Azad
Rajvardhan Azad, MD, is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist, academician, educator, and researcher from India. He obtained his MBBS and MD in Ophthalmology from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. Dr. Azad has over 40 years of experience in the field of eye care and has held several esteemed positions, including Chief and Professor of the Dr. R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences at AIIMS. Dr. Azad is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (FRCS), Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS), Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM), and International College of Surgeons (FICS). He has published over 200 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored 12 books, and contributed over 60 chapters to books and periodicals. His research interests include pediatric retina, ROP, ocular trauma, retinal detachment surgery, diabetic retinopathy, and the molecular basis of ROP pathogenesis. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious De O'campo Oration by the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) and the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award for Best Medical Teacher in India. Dr. Azad was also elected as the first Indian President of the APAO, a body representing over 50,000 ophthalmologists worldwide.

Martine J. Jager
Martine J. Jager is a highly esteemed ophthalmologist and academic, known for her significant contributions to the field of ocular oncology and immunology. She is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands, with a particular focus on ocular melanoma. Dr. Jager obtained her MD and PhD from Leiden University, specializing in ophthalmology at the University of Amsterdam and completing a fellowship in cornea and ocular surface diseases at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. She is actively involved in international collaborations and holds several prestigious positions, including Adjunct Scientist at the Schepens Eye Research Institute at Harvard Medical School, and President of the International Society of Ocular Oncology. Dr. Jager has also been recognized with numerous awards, such as the ARVO Gold Fellow Award and the Joanne G. Angle Special Achievement Award. William E.Smiddy
Dr. William E. Smiddy is a highly respected ophthalmologist with over 42 years of experience, specializing in retinal disorders, retina/vitreous surgery, and macular disease/degeneration. He is currently a Professor of Ophthalmology and holds the M. Brenn Green Chair in Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Smiddy graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1983 and completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at The Wilmer Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He has authored over 340 journal articles, 110 book chapters, and five books, and is an active reviewer for more than 20 academic journals. He is affiliated with the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics and practices at multiple locations in Florida, including Miami, Naples, and Palm Beach Gardens. Dr. Smiddy is also a member of several prestigious professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Macula Society.

Lingyun Cheng
Lingyun Cheng, MD, is an internationally acclaimed physician-scientist and an Adjunct Professor at the Shiley Eye Institute, University of California, San Diego. He is also the Director of Ocular Pharmacology at the Jacobs Retina Center. Dr. Cheng graduated from Shanxi Medical University in China and completed his residency at The First Teaching Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. He then pursued vitreoretinal fellowships at Ideta Eye Hospital in Japan and at the University of California, San Diego, followed by postdoctoral training in ocular pharmacology at UC San Diego. Dr. Cheng is dedicated to research in local ocular drug delivery and the pharmacological management of vitreoretinal diseases. His team is developing innovative local ocular drug delivery systems, including a new intraocular crystalline lipid prodrug delivery platform, a porous silicon-based ocular drug delivery system, and a transscleral drug delivery system.

Anas Bilal
Aspiring to contribute to a stimulating environment that encourages professional and technical growth, along with the enhancement of managerial capabilities. Yamei Luo
Yamei Luo, professor, Ph.D. in Optics, is currently the Dean of the School of Medical Information and Engineering and the Head of the Intelligent Medical Engineering program at Southwest Medical University. She is also a master's supervisor and postdoctoral co‑supervisor. Her research and teaching focus on the interdisciplinary integration of medicine, science, and engineering. She has led more than 20 research and educational reform projects at various levels, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She has published over 60 SCI‑indexed papers as the first or corresponding author, and has edited or co‑edited more than 10 textbooks.

Zhichang Zhang
Zhichang Zhang, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer at China Medical University. His research covers natural language processing, large multimodal agents, and AI applications in medicine. He has published 49 papers, including 19 SCI-indexed articles in top journals such as The Lancet and The Lancet Infectious Diseases. As a GBD Senior Collaborator, he contributes to the Global Burden of Disease Study. He holds a patent on an adaptive learning system based on large language models, leads two provincial key educational reform projects, and edited a textbook that won a national first prize. He received the CMEA Science and Technology Progress Awards (2022, 2025) and was named Outstanding Teacher of China Medical University (2024). His work focuses on medical AI education and clinical translation of large language models.

Yu Fu
Yu Fu, Associate Chief Physician of the Department of Clinical Nutrition at Changzhou First People’s Hospital, also serves as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Translational Medicine, Soochow University. Her research focuses on vitamin D and VDR signaling, body composition, nutritional intervention for diabetes, osteoporosis and metabolic disorders, as well as clinical nutritional support and pediatric nutrition. She has published 26 academic papers, including over 15 SCI-indexed articles in high-impact journals such as Journal of Advanced Research, Frontiers in Endocrinology and Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology. She acts as corresponding author and co-first author on multiple SCI papers and works as an editorial board member of Advances in Medical Research. She has co-authored one textbook Clinical Nutrition and Gerontological Nursing and participated in drafting the national expert consensus Expert Consensus on Nutrition Delaying Bone Aging.

He Huang
He Huang, Professor and Dean of the School of Medical Information Engineering at Shenyang Medical College. His research focuses on medical artificial intelligence, medical information engineering, virtual simulation, and medicine-engineering integration. He has led or participated in provincial, municipal, and industry-funded research and educational reform projects, particularly in computer fundamentals, intelligent technologies, student-centered learning, curriculum-based ideological and political education, and innovation and entrepreneurship. He has published papers in journals including Digital Health, CrystEngComm, Acta Ecologiae Animalis Domastici, and Research and Exploration in Laboratory, serving as first author or corresponding author on representative studies. He is chief editor of six textbooks published by Science Press and holds a utility model patent for a virtual experimental teaching platform. Houyi Lv
Houyi Lv, Ph.D., received doctoral degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a specialization in Reproductive Medicine, from Zhejiang University School of Medicine. She currently works as a doctor in the Department of Reproductive Genetics at the Women’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. During her postgraduate studies, she published two SCI-indexed research articles as a first or co-first author, with his research primarily focusing on endometrial injury repair and regeneration.

Zhe Yi
Zhe Yi, Ph.D. in Stomatology from China Medical University, is a Professor at the School of Stomatology, China Medical University. His research encompasses AI deep learning–based diagnostic and treatment planning for oral implantology and prosthodontics, with a focus on computer‑aided diagnosis and treatment, as well as the application of emerging digital technologies in clinical oral medicine. His work also extends to bone repair and regenerative biomaterial. He has led multiple research projects at various administrative levels, published over 20 peer‑reviewed papers as first or corresponding author indexed in SCI, and contributed to the compilation of several textbooks. His primary research interests lie in the clinical translation of novel digital technologies in dentistry and the development of biomaterials for bone regeneration.

Tu Lv
Tu Lv, Associate Professor in Department of Ophthalmology, the First Hospital of China Medical University, China Medical University Eye Center, postdoctoral researcher in Pharmacy at Shenyang Pharmaceutical University. He received his Ph.D. and M.D. in Ophthalmology ,specializing in retinal diseases, from State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University. His research focus on ocular drug delivery, oculomics and RPE cell homeostasis. He has published 15 SCI-indexed papers, including Journal of Nanobiotechnology, Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Today Bio, and Drug Delivery, with a cumulative impact factor of 84.9.

Yun Zhou
Yun Zhou received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2019. He is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Medical Information and Engineering, Southwest Medical University, where he serves as Director of the Physics and Electronic Technology Experimental Teaching Center. He is also a project evaluation and consulting expert for the Science and Technology Innovation Alliance of the Chengdu–Chongqing Economic Circle and a council member of the Medical Equipment Branch of the Sichuan Hospital Association. He has published 36 SCI-indexed papers, obtained 8 authorized Chinese invention patents, and led a project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His research focuses on the development and application of electrochemical biosensors and wound dressings.

Jing Wang
Jing Wang, Bachelor of Anesthesiology (full-time bachelor's degree) and Master of Computer Science, with clinical practice qualification. Published 11 papers on the intersection of medicine and engineering. I have participated in one provincial public health project and one municipal public health project. Served as a member of the second session of the Artificial Intelligence and Medical Robotics Branch of the China Association of Medical Equipment and a member of the Intelligent Rehabilitation Branch of the China Medical Education Association. Previously worked at the China National Institute of Information Technology (affiliated with the Ministry of Science and Technology). Reviewer for AMR journals.

Mingli Sun
Mingli Sun is a doctoral graduate of Fujian Medical University. Her research interests focus on female reproductive health, encompassing clinical research, basic biomedical research, and evidence-based medicine. She has extensive experience in the methodological development and application of evidence quality assessment tools, with particular expertise in the use of GRADE and STAR frameworks. She is currently serving as a young member of the STAR Public Health Special Committee, contributing to the advancement of evidence-based research and methodology in public health. She has published 15 peer-reviewed academic articles in prestigious domestic and international journals, including eClinicalMedicine, BMC Medicine, and Advances in Nutrition. She has served as principal investigator or key contributor for three research projects, including one national-level projects and two projects funded by the Fujian Science and Technology Innovation Joint Fund. She has also been granted four national patents and four computer software copyrights.
